Troublemaking!

As per my last post, I've fallen head over heels in love with KennyK's stamps HERE

I had to get cracking on my first purchase which resulted in this:

I'm actually really pleased seeing as its my first real attempt with my markers, shading isn't bad, could do with more practice but I love her!

I'm in the process of putting together my first ever card, using the little troublemaker... finding this quite difficult with limited supplies (compared to my stash collection years ago!) never mind ...watch this space!

Slight confession at drooling at some other cards, altered art and the new Silhouette Portrait! but shhhhh

Details of colouring:

Up and running!

How excited am I!

Doing my usual surfing I've discovered a fab little website and challenge blog in the name of KennyK!

They do the most fab digital stamps and have some even more fab inspiration on their challenge blog... Needless to say I am now the proud owner of two new stamps (had to limit myself till pay-day otherwise I'd be the owner of 500 stamps and a credit card bill!) but I certainly feel for getting back into the craft these are a great starting point!

I also purchased some papers and embellishments today as I'm heading towards the card making scene. So gutted i sold all my scrapbook items a few years ago... Papers, embellishments, craft robo, cuttlebug - all gone. I assumed I would never return to paper craft but I guess stamps and promarkers are wedged deep in my heart.. So time to slowly (for a change) start building up my collection again, with the hopes of partaking in some blogs - challenges etc and who knows what else! I'd love the honour of being on a design team one day!

Anyway enough talk, here are my pretty new stamps which I intend to have a play with tomorrow, might even enter the challenge on KennyK's blog HERE

Promarker storage + getting started

Well, after my collection of 'just this small pack of promarkers' started to grow and need space of their own, I flipped around using many different storage methods!

From bags to boxes, nothing really hit the spot, I also was very reluctant, however nice, to purchase an overpriced storage holder from the makers themselves... So I did what I do best, I googled away and cast my eye on how other people stored theirs!

So no credit for this is taken by me, this is a fab and cheap idea and stores my markers perfectly! for the simple cost of a cheap DVD tower (ikea) and some blank DVD cases... A whole lot of love when Into the making of this, mainly because I found, when I took a pen out, the others rolled around in the row, so, although not totally visible on the pic, I made a concertina type sheet from cardboard which I could slot each pen into, keeping them firmly in place!

This makes finding the right colour perfect, which has been added to the spine of each DVD case

And yes, there are still spaces of which I do intend to eventually fill ;)

Thanks for reading!

Introductions and formalities...

Hi, and welcome to my blog. This is one of those really boring first post where I talk about myself a little and why I am here. I'll try to keep things as light and interesting as possible.

So I'm here! New to blogging but certainly not new to crafting! I'm a bit of a Hobby butterfly in that respect and have a tendency to flutter from one thing to the next. If I'm honest, never really long enough to perfect anything I try. As my dad used to say 'jack of all trades, master of none' - that's me!

So the purpose of my butterfly stop here and this blog? A few reasons!

I'm lucky to have quite a nice collection of promarker pens, unfortunately they often go neglected and unloved. It's hard to tell, but I do actually love them!

Their so easy and versatile to use, the colours are fantastic and vibrant and blend perfectly together, I'd imagine the most novice of novices could get some fantastic results from them (speaking from experience here) let alone anyone who hangs onto them long enough to really perfect the art! (Obviously not speaking from experience!)

I'm hoping to start paying them some attention, getting them out and not being afraid to have a good go!

As for me, well I'm 27, Female, and having plenty of fun in my exploration into the world of colour, fantasy, and imagination.

Main use for markers are likely to be digi-stamps, another collection of hours spent drooling over all the fantastic images out there. I'd also like to try some manga and anime, it seems the markers were born for this type of art...

Im lucky enough to have my own 'room' which has seen one craft after another, promarkers being on of them and currently Clay-Art being my other (detailed in my other blog) - my imagination really can begin to add colour!

Please follow, comment, praise or give advice, it's time I started trying to perfect something!
